Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026. The short version: we know your email address and whatever you submit. That's about it. No ads, no tracking pixels, no newsletter, and we don't sell anything to anyone.
What we collect
If you sign in: your email address, used only to send you sign-in links and codes, plus the handle on your account.
If you submit or nominate work: the details you enter (title, show, studio, credits, category, links), the video files you upload, and a record of the Committee's decision and the reason given.
If you report a piece: which piece, and that you reported it.
If you approve a fan nomination of your work: your name and email, kept as a record of who said yes, plus the credits and file you send.
If you just visit: nothing we look at. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (things like IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the Site running and secure, and our video provider collects anonymous playback stats (things like buffering and errors) so videos stream properly.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking, no analytics profiles.
What's public
If your piece is published, its title, credits and the handle that posted it appear on the Site. Your email address is never shown publicly.
How we use it
To run the Site: signing you in, reviewing and publishing work, showing you the status of your submissions, handling takedowns and reports, and keeping the Site secure. That's the whole list. We don't use your information for advertising, we don't send marketing email, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Who helps us run the Site
A few outside services handle parts of the Site for us, and only see what they need to do their job: Vercel hosts the Site, Supabase handles sign-in and the database, Mux stores and streams the video, and Resend delivers sign-in emails. Each has its own privacy policy. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to deal with a copyright claim, fraud or abuse.
How long we keep it
Your account and published work stay until you ask us to remove them or we take them down. Review copies, decisions and reports may be kept as a record of how the Site is moderated. Technical logs are kept by our providers for their usual periods.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or have your account and submissions deleted, by emailing thecommittee@dontskipintro.com. We'll take care of it within a reasonable time. Some records may stay in backups for a short while before they cycle out.
Kids
The Site isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and we'll post a notice on the Site if the change is significant.
