Manifesto

Oh, that what now?

Dont Skip Intro is simply a place to watch title sequences. Other stuff too, but primarily TV and film titles. Every piece here was viewed start to finish, in landscape mode, and approved by an actual human. If it's here, someone thought you should see it too. That's the whole system.

And no, we're not a panel of tastemakers in matching black turtlenecks. We're people who make this stuff, or used to, or want to... or at least used to want to. We've been in the trenches with the mad geniuses, we've dealt with the 11th-hour client curveballs, we've seen people more talented than us burn out and go to culinary school. We have work we're extremely proud of and some things we'd rather everyone forget existed. But we still get excited when a sequence nails it, and we wanted somewhere to point at the screen and say "look at this."

But why male models? Because we refuse to let the algorithms be our gatekeepers. The most popular platforms are built to keep you scrolling. They decide what gets seen based on how fast you swipe, so gradually everything gets shorter, louder, safer. Anything slow, nuanced or quiet gets buried. If it takes ninety seconds to pay off, it doesn't stand a chance. Title sequences don't even need a Skip Intro button to disappear.

Meanwhile, the places that used to celebrate this work have mostly gone quiet. The old forums are ghost towns, and most of the blogs haven't posted in years or have moved on to other things. Whatever conversation remains is scattered across social media, buried under ads, tutorials and "Buy my plugin!" posts. But let's be clear: the great work never stopped. We just lost the places where it was celebrated. So until there's an Academy Award for Best Main Title, this site is as good as it gets. (Unless you count the Emmys… but they'll give one of those to anyone.)

We are not a social media site. No likes, no reposts, no follower counts, no upvotes. No ads, no subscription, no newsletter. We don't care whether something went viral or how many followers the studio has. And we definitely don't care about the folks in the comments gleefully awaiting the day the machines finally replace us. I guess there's always culinary school.

So we put a person back at the gate. Every piece is judged on the idea, the craft, the motion, the typography and the execution, and nothing else. We'll get it wrong sometimes. That's fine. There's no comment section.

This is for the people who still sweat the kerning, still obsess over camera moves, still lose whole afternoons on Art of the Title, and still think the first ninety seconds of a show deserve as much love as the rest of it.

Don't touch that remote. Don't skip the intro. Some poor bastard spent months on it.
